| 4 | MOTOR RELAY CONTACT A (REM) | Out | 5-Pin DIN Pin 4: Reed Relay RL1 Contact A (isolated switch closed when 8255 PC4 = HIGH) | 2.5mm Sub-Mini Tip (Remote Motor) |
| 5 | MOTOR RELAY CONTACT B (REM) | Out | 5-Pin DIN Pin 5: Reed Relay RL1 Contact B (rated 24V DC / 500 mA max across Pins 4 & 5) | 2.5mm Sub-Mini Sleeve (Remote Motor) |
Wiring CPC Stereo Audio into an RGB SCART Cable & Adding an External Tape Jack to a CPC 464
Because the Amstrad CPC 6-pin DIN Monitor port carries NO audio signals, all Amstrad CPC models provide a dedicated 3.5mm TRS Stereo Audio output jack on the side of the case (mixing AY-3-8912 Channel A to Left, Channel C to Right, and Channel B across both channels). For cassette tape I/O (driven by 8255 PPI Port B Bit 7 for Read, Port C Bit 5 for Write, and Port C Bit 4 for the RL1 Motor Relay), the CPC 664/6128 provide a rear 5-pin 180° DIN socket, while the CPC 464 routes the exact same signals to its internal Datacorder deck header (and supports external 5-pin DIN / 3.5mm TZXDuino mods).
- Integrating CPC Stereo Audio into an RGB SCART Lead: Because the 6-pin DIN Monitor port has no audio pin, run a twin-screened lead from a 3.5mm TRS stereo plug (inserted into the CPC's side STEREO socket) into the SCART shell: Tip (Left) -> SCART Pin 6, Ring (Right) -> SCART Pin 2, and Sleeve (GND) -> SCART Pin 4.
- Connecting a TZXDuino / Smartphone to a CPC 464 or 6128: On a CPC 664/6128, wire 5-pin DIN Pin 3 (EAR In) to the Tip of a 3.5mm plug, DIN Pin 2 (GND) to the Sleeve, and DIN Pins 4 & 5 to the 2.5mm Remote Motor jack. On a CPC 464, you can either slip a 3.5mm car cassette adapter into the Datacorder deck OR wire a switched 3.5mm jack into the internal Datacorder playback preamp input (pressing PLAY on an empty deck so relay RL1 and the leaf switch engage).
