Atari 800XL & 130XE
Atari 800XL (CO61598) & 130XE (CO24947) — 6502C SALLY + ANTIC + GTIA + POKEY mainboards
Complete Diagnostic Flowchart: Capacitive Load, ESR & Power Rail Ripple Diagnostic Tree (Universal Retro Mainboards (C64, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, Game Gear, Consoles))
Summary
The Atari 800XL and 130XE run entirely from a single external +5V DC 7-pin DIN power supply. Recapping the mainboard power-entry reservoir (470 uF) and video/POKEY audio coupling cans eliminates vertical jailbars and audio hum.

Safety & Warnings
Never use the sealed epoxy Atari 'Ingot' Power Supply (CO61982)!
Just like the C64 brick of death, the potted Atari 'Ingot' PSU fails short-circuit and sends +9V to +11V DC directly into SALLY, ANTIC, GTIA, POKEY, and the 4164 DRAM bank!
Is This Your Board?
- Atari 800XL PCB is marked CO61598; Atari 130XE PCB is marked CO24947 (with two banks of eight 4164 DRAM chips and the ECI expansion port).
Verified rows are agreed by two or more independent sources. Check rows are revision-dependent or single-sourced — confirm the value against your own board before ordering.

Recap Tips
- While recapping an 800XL, bridge the missing Chroma line from the 4050/video junction to Pin 5 of the 5-pin DIN monitor jack via a 75-ohm resistor and 100 nF cap to enable crisp S-Video!
